History
Vision Theatre, one of Ottawa 's most promising, young and exciting companies, was founded by Samer Al-Saber at the turn of the century! (2000). As Artistic Director of the company, his vision was to bring a different perspective of theatrical storytelling to the Ottawa area and to bridge the gap between emerging and professional artists.
From its very first production, David Hare's The Blue Room , Vision Theatre has been at the forefront of producing plays and stories that resonate with contemporary popular culture.
In 2005 Vision Theatre officially incorporated as a Non-Profit organization and Greg Wysynski took over the reigns as Artistic Director and joined Artistic Producer Sam Awwad, both of whom have been hailed as “some of our best younger directors in the city ( Ottawa )” by CBC Radio Ottawa's Alvina Ruprecht.
In its nine year history, Vision Theatre has produced 21 plays, including 9 Ottawa premieres , from the contemporary repertoire which have in some way challenged conventions and convictions providing audiences with work that has long-lasting resonance. Vision Theatre has consistently met with artistic and critical acclaim.
